Johnson County Herb Society The meeting was called to order by president Esther Chambliss. Ten members were in attendance. Pat Kreiner of Wildwood Cottage announced she is beginning a series of four classes at th Cleburne Civic Center beginning November 14 at a cost of $75 per person. The classes will be 1. Experiment of the Senses 2. Essential Oils First Aid Kit 3. Essential Oils for Home, Garden and Pets, and 4. The Art of Blending. Esther announced the Silent Auction at the Herb Show would include a $25 gift certificate for a flower arrangement from Cleburne Patrick Floral, two tickets to "It's a Wonderful Life" at Carnegie Theatre, two meals at Applebee's in Burleson, two meals at Spring Creek Barbecue, and Dr. Pepper collectibles from the Antique Mall. There will be six raffle baskets plus the main raffle. Added to the main raffle were three wind chimes from Russell's Feed Store, a Herb Gardening book from Weatherford Gardens, and soil amendments from the Plant Shed in Fort Worth. New vendors have signed up for the Herb Symposium. One is Melissa, who will give mini massages. Each member was asked to make a gallon of herbal tea (labeled) and bring to the symposium for visitors. Winners of the monthly raffle were Sherry Stanford and Debra Moore. Esther demonstrated how to make moth repellent balls and lavender hearts from materials she had brought. Members made crafts. The meeting was adjourned with hopes of seeing everyone at the Herbal Thymes Show and Symposium October 28. Micki Nellis, Secretary
